The Flyers went ahead 1-0 at 2:48 of the first period when Lindblom scored on a nifty wrist shot.

Voracek gave the Flyers a 2-0 advantage at 7:52 with his 17th goal of the season.

The Sabres soon were awarded a power play, and Eichel recorded his 22nd goal at 12:08 to slice the lead in half.

Buffalo was outshot 19-6 in the first but only trailed by one goal.

Jeff Skinner nearly tied the score for the Sabres at 11:54 of the second, but Elliott made a sprawling save and deflected a booming shot into the stands.

The Flyers soon took advantage and went ahead 3-1 when van Riemsdyk redirected Robert Hagg's shot past Hutton at 15:13. It was van Riemsdyk's fourth goal in the past seven games.

Mittelstadt got the Sabres within 3-2 at 17:53 when he tapped home a pass in front from Evan Rodrigues.

The Flyers came out aggressive in the third and went ahead 4-2 just 46 seconds into the period as Sanheim scored his sixth goal of the season. Sean Couturier picked up the lone assist on the goal, his 34th of the season and the 200th of his career.

Elliott then made difficult saves against Rasmus Dahlin and Skinner to maintain the two-goal lead.

Giroux sealed the win with an empty-net goal at 17:05.
